A Deadly Combo: Becoming Weary and Jealous

3 Jun

I come to you Lord, because I can’t bear it

I freely give my cares to you

My strength, I’m weak please make me strong

I Surrender it all to you

Ricky Dillard feat. Nikki Ross – I Surrender All

Being Weary and Jealous is a harmful combination. Things happen in life that make you feel like garbage. Nothing is going right in your world and the walls are caving in. You see no way out.  At the same time, everyone around you is getting everything they want. Jobs, cars, spouses, etc… You are the person who, on paper, should have the lives they are living. The worse part is that they still expect you to be happy for them, and that my friend, is hard.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

You are getting tired of this life. Very tired of the day-to-day bull crap. But you are still here so figure out why you are and get into the business of figuring out what you need to do to live YOUR best life…. not someone else. You did not get that job because God has prepared something specific for you. That man or woman, who you loved and have lost, is in the past. The person for you has God’s heart and will minister to you as he leads them.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Still you are too weary to even endure until this new season of your life appears. You have been trying to live a good life for a long time yet you still see others prosper. Weariness in the Lord is a sign to draw closer to him… He is the source of your strength. Surrender it All.

All to Jesus I surrender;

All to him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust him,

In his presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all,

All to thee, my blessed Savior,

I surrender all.

Once you surrender, understand that you must focus on what God is doing for you… or else jealously will creep in. When you start to feel jealous towards someone or something, it is a sign that your desires in too much control. You must remind yourself of God’s will for your life and what he has promised you. What are his promises? One is really basic in Psalms 23:1- The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  Focus on who you serve and not your circumstances. Easier said than done, ABSOLUTELY! If you build your relationship with God through prayer and reading his word, you will be able to deal with the jealousy you have inside you.

Hebrews 13:5 says, … be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”  Remember this when your weariness starts to overtake you and then your jealous side starts to rise. God is with you through it all. Trust him in all seasons. Even the really bad ones. He is still in control.

Love Hard. Live Harder.

XOXO

    I really love your posts! Your words are so relevant to where I am in life and I’ve been encouraged by the verses that you use direct focus where it should be (on God!). It’s been a LONG time since CTY, but you’re just as awesome as ever!
